They are a Seattle local and in their spare time enjoy walks through the beautiful parks, attending local music events, and spending time with their Chihuahua mix Misifu.
Jonathan
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Hi, my name is Jonathan, but my friends call me Jon. I have 12 years of experience as a veterinary technician, specializing primarily in surgery and shelter work. My love of animals has been lifelong, starting with my first pet, a dog my family adopted when I was in elementary school. I honestly don’t remember a time without animals in my life. As the owner of two special-needs dogs (my current dogs are both blind), I know how challenging vet visits can be for special needs animals. This has really been one of the most fulfilling parts of my career to date. I strive to make each visit for every animal a positive experience. When I am not working, I enjoy reading, traveling, and hiking as many trails as possible with my wife, Julianna.
Emily
Veterinary Assistant
Emily comes to Island Animal Hospital with 4 years of experience in shelter work. She has a passion for working with fearful pets and is working on behavioral training certifications in her free time. She is originally from Massachusetts and enjoys spending time outside, either at the beach or hiking with her dogs, Mac and Nelson.
Bella
Veterinary Assistant
Bella began her path in veterinary medicine in 2022 as a fresh graduate, wanting to move into the animal field. She started in emergency as a kennel attendant and quickly found her passion and moved up to a veterinary assistant. From there, she transitioned to general practice and urgent care, where she found love for getting to know her patients and clients on a deeper level, which brings her to Island Animal Hospital. In her free time, Bella enjoys caring for her many family pets, doing arts and crafts, and spending time in nature.
Hannia
Veterinary Assistant
Hello! My name is Hannia, and I graduated from Pima in 2022. I have always had a huge passion for animals and caring for them. I got my first job as an animal caretaker at a doggy daycare, which is what persuaded me to go to school and pursue a career in the animal industry. In my free time, I enjoy watching films with my family and hanging out with my cats and my dog, Pasta! I am also a lover of Italian food; I am a huge pasta lover!
Cade
Veterinary Receptionist
Cade comes to Island Animal Hospital fresh from a busy mixed practice in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, focused on large and small animals as well as exotics and wildlife. As a relative newcomer to Seattle, they enjoy exploring all the city has to offer and getting on a ferry every chance they get. Cade left a background in design and marketing to pursue a more meaningful career in veterinary care.
